What to Expect in an Ethos D&D Adventure
Your D&D experience is live, virtual, entirely original, and tailored to your party. All the action takes place in a dynamic world created by Ethos Studios. We do not use pre-made worlds or canned campaigns.
Each session lasts 4–6 hours, from the time that everyone logs in until we all hang up. The story can accommodate 3 to 8 players and we can tailor the details to fit your group's interests and inside jokes.
Prior gaming experience and knowledge of D&D is helpful, but not required. Our resident dungeonmaster manages the game mechanics so you and your party can focus on the story.
What We Provide
30-minute call with your group’s Herald (point of contact) to discuss specific needs and any storyline requests
4-6 hours of interactive play (per session) for 3–8 players
For one-shots: 16 pre-made characters to choose from (players can customize their appearance, but not the ability scores, race, class, or backstory)
For longer campaigns: Coaching through the character creation process
A fully fleshed out world with villains and potential allies, puzzles and traps, spectacles and delights
A virtual tabletop space, with built-in character sheets and avatars, where players roll dice and all the action takes place
Private Discord forum to enable video chat (or you can provide an alternate platform)
Minimum Player Technology
The quality of your game session will be limited by the slowest player computer and/or internet speed. At minimum, all players must have the following:
Computer with a 64 bit operating system (Windows 10 or Mac OS10.11 and up), X64-based processor, 4GB installed RAM, 2Ghz processor
Stable broadband internet connection (hard-wired preferred)
Microphone (built-in or external)
Webcam (external recommended)
Most current version of either Chrome or Firefox web browsers
Content Notice and Player Behavior
Your D&D one-shot or campaign may feature swordfights, necromancy, and other fantasy violence. Sometimes gritty. Sometimes goofy. Never gratuitous. And always in service of the story.
You may encounter non-player characters (NPCs) portrayed by the dungeonmaster who are foul-mouthed, drunken, duplicitous, or otherwise ill-behaved or nefarious. This does not give players license to engage in egregiously offensive, discriminatory, or hate speech.
Ethos Studios’ adventures will not include content relating to sex or sexual violence, racism, ableism, ageism, homophobia, or partisan political issues.
Family friendly storylines and adventures are available on request.
